Captain Nienna Tennile is a member of the Royal Navy. Upon returning from her ordeal with the dragon, she was obligated to report for duty. This disturbed Omicron. The experience of losing Tennile had changed him, and now that she had been returned to him, he felt that he could not suffer her loss again. Omicron committed himself to wooing her and making her his wife.
In order for Omicron to woo Tennile, she would need to be available for wooing. Omicron journeyed to Capitol City to persuade her superiors to assign her a command close to home. As Tennille had been away for nearly a year, they were inclined to agree with his reasoning and granted his request for her assignment.
Omicrons plan to win his bride was much more complicated. Omicron hoped to have her with him and keep her safe. He knew that he could not accomplish this while she continued to serve in the Royal Navy. Omicron conceived the idea of building his own fleet of ships for her to command. He would build a city for her wedding gift. Any thought of failure he had was never acknowledged.
Meade had already secured two well-maintained galleys, both previously belonging to pirates and outfitted for speed. These ships were being used as trade vessels, and could just as easily fall under the command of a naval captain. The trouble was that two galleys is hardly a fleet. Omicron sat down to enumerate all the needs of a strong, impressive fleet. The labor and construction costs were tremendous.
Juli Tinker is a gnome. She is 40 years old, blond hair, blue eyes and tan complexion.
Juli is a very inquisitive, edgy type often called "chick" rather than lady. She was motivated to travel to Meade after learning of the numerous decanters of the plane of water that had been collected by the Founding Three.
Upon personal inspection of the city, she found little fault. Juli was not highly educated, but she could recognize a good thing when she saw it. The people of the City of Meade were friendly and she appreciated the banking and residency terms. While she is wanderer, even a wanderer likes a place to call home time and again.
Juli overcame the job requirement by accepting a position as a City of Meade Chronicler. That meant that she would actually be paid by the City of Meade to do what she was going to do for fun anyway.
Juli resides on The Prince Casino in Outer Cove where she makes surprise guest appearances. She is an accomplished poet, but she generally only recites the stories of her travels upon the planes to small private audiences.
Juli may not have gotten the story she was looking for in the City of Meade, but she found a community to call home
Kayla was orphaned as a very young child when pirates overtook the ship carrying her family. She washed ashore and found herself lost in the wilds of the Unfamiliar Jungle.
Brave Kayla soon discovered it was safer for the small to keep to the treetops. As a young girl she mimicked the birds and built a nest for herself to sleep. When the rains came, she learned of necessity to weave the tree branches and eventually, she built herself a home in the canopy of the jungle.
Willow and Omicron were scouting ahead of their traveling companions when they were surprised to meet Kayla. She suddenly presented herself before them with her arms held high and wide as if to frighten them away. It was very sad.
Kayla was entirely unfamiliar with language. Willow saw little choice but to stun the girl after Omicron's negotiation tactics failed. She was captured for her own safety.
Upon reaching the ship, Captain Tennile was made aware of Kayla's situation. After private talks, Omicron secured her passage back to civilization. However, Kayla could not be tamed. She abandoned ship a week after her rescue.
Little was heard from her for a number of years and she was all but forgotten by the adventurers when Willow spied her in the marketplace of Guissette.
"Can that be Kayla, the little barbarian girl?" Willow thought to herself. " Kayla, is that you?"
She approached the young woman examining the selection of animal skins hanging in the sun.
"I stop looking!" Kayla embraced Willow. " Is that guy still traveling with you?"
"Omicron? Yes. He lives here actually. Would you come see him with me? He'll be glad to see you safe. We were worried when you ran away." Willow leads Kayla through the streets to Omicron's home.
"I don't like water. I no want to be one but ship scare Kayla. Kayla travel dry desert. Met friend."
"Oh, Kayla. That's good. And I hope to meet your new friend soon, but let's have tea with Omicron first."
" Tea? What tea?"
Kacha are unique to Meade. They were first discovered by Willow in the outlaying area of the village of Meade prior to the establishment of the Meade Animal Sanctuary. The need to protect the Kacha from the larger wild animals in the area was immediately evident. Willow enlisted the aid of her good friend Kimmy-Ko in her effort to help the Kacha.
Kimmy-Ko fell in love with the Kachas playful, good nature and proposed the idea of keeping Kacha as pets rather than risk them being eaten by the other animalsin the forest. Kacha were distributed to the gnome villagers and quickly became a favorite with the children. All Kacha like playing with children.
Most Kacha are a medium brown, but they appear in tan, white and black aswell.Kacha do not have true feathers. Their entire bodies are covered with down.
Kachas need a great deal of attention. Kacha wings are too small for flight leaving them earth bound and extremely vulnerable to prey. In addition to their mobility issues, many Kacha have vision problems. Evidence suggests Kacha were born from unhatched chicken eggs corrupted by the influence of the then incomplete Sphere of Gigantism causing irregular and accelerated growth. Male Kacha seem unaware of their disabilities and may wander away from home if unattended while female Kacha are less likely to roam.
They are beautiful song birds and enjoy performing. Kacha enjoy the attention of others and are considered vain animals. Many enjoy bubble baths and having their nails groomed and painted, although this is not required. Kacha that are not given proper attention may become depressed or run away from home.
As a child, Cora traveled many roads in the caravan of halfling wagons, and while others were lulled to sleep by the clip clap of hooves and the rhythmic jostling of the wagon wheels, Cora yearned for the still. She was a thoughtful child and spent much of her free time alone skipping rocks across a lake or exploring the quiet of the woods when her people would camp.
Cora's mother, concerned by her daughter's quiet ways, urged her to develop her marksmanship and substitute her stones with knives. As she gained expertise, Cora won many social and competitive games.
Agmar was a good friend to the Founding Three. They first met while taking the road to the capital to secure ownership of Travelers Tower from the king. Agmar recognized the enormity of their plans and agreed to join the group and help establish the Meade Animal Sanctuary. He was instrumental in helping the animals adapt to sharing their land with Meade's new citizens.
Agmar became an important member of the Meade community. He served on the first Meade Council and oversaw the agricultural concerns of the village and created the Great Gardens.
Agmar the Druid died at the age of 112. The following is what is known of his early life.
Agmar had a tough childhood. He was raised in a cave by trolls near many large herds of animals such as elephants and rhinos. He was forced to fight for survival from the very beginning in the harsh jungles of his native land. He learned to respect and revere nature particularly birds, he loves birds. He then adopted the role of a druid.
He left his land and went out in search of adventure. The call of gold and glory enticed him to leave the jungle after his home was visited by adventurers. They shared with him stories of amazing things. They claimed to have visited hell itself, raided all 99 levels of the abyss, and slew the greatest of all dragons. They came to his land to fight the ferocious kraken that terrorized the coastline and the ships that sailed the seas. Agmar begged to go with them and they let him come along. He saw their glorious battle in which the kraken and his numerous minions were soundly crushed by the imposing force of the adventurers. Agmar longed for that kind of power he decided he would go and try to attain that power.
He went out and slew many beasts he started out small as he was weak gnolls an goblins were prime targets known to horde treasure and not especially strong he cleared out their dens and took the loot. Slowly he became stronger working his way up to demons and devils he became an unstoppable force over time. He ventured into the swamps of time and slew the dragon king for his gold and to save the surrounding wilderness from the dragons terrible fire breath. Shinron, as the dragon was called, found pleasure in destroying forests and swamps and watching the inhabitants perish in his searing flames. Agmar put an end to his reign of terror saving the people and collecting the dragons treasure.
He sought out the mighty frost serpent in the planes of eternal frost and bring back his head as a testament to his power the serpents eye still hangs from his neck to show those who would challenge him what he is capable of doing.
Killian is known to be many things but sociable isn't one of them. Since coming to Meade, he has opened up more than before due to the constant encouragement of his childhood friend, omicron. Killian grew up in the same village as Omicron. He was born to kheelak and emerlan. his father was a blacksmith and his mother was the Queens seamstress. Killian was never one to be involved in the camaraderie that most elves of his village engaged in, rather, he preferred to be alone, whether be hunting, studying or even just laying about. His father ordered Killian to accompany the young prince on his first hunting expedition expressing how important it was for the young elf to become a contributing member of the community, because after all, elves rely on each other for protection, nurture, and overall, a sense of belonging.
Although Killian protested, he adhered to his father's order. It was during this expedition that he and the young Omicron became friends. It was an unusual friendship because they had very different views on things. Many a times did they exchange blows over trivial things. It looked as though those two should not be in the same room together but somehow, they always stuck by each other whenever either was threatened. Omicron once said abbot his longtime friend: " as much as we fight and disagree, I would not want anyone else by my side out in the frontline other than Killian. That thickheaded brooding loser".
Others believed that Killian only stuck by the prince for his own advancement, others saw it as his way of making his father happy. Because being friends with the village prince came with perks. Ask him and he would not answer this question, but it is believed that beneath it all, he saw in omicron the desire he himself feels he could never express.
Killian saw no reason to have as much ambition as Omicron because as he saw it, life would not improve any more than it has in many years. The wood elves were known as people who pretty much stuck to themselves. aside from the dwarves to the east, they never really interacted with other races. He was always taught that outsiders could never understand the unique bond elves of this village had with one another. That in itself gave more credence to his notion of seclusion. luckily for him, young Omicron was there to help him open up the shell and become a more productive member of the tribe. The two were almost inseparable during childhood. He was always a part of the hunting expeditions when his friend was leading. They were a good team when out in the field. They implemented the buddy system to perfection. When those two would hunt, it was like a choreographed dance. they knew what the other was going to and reacted accordingly.
when omicron was not around, it was very rare to see killian interacting with others. When Omicron became the field leader of the dwarven border, Killian was his right hand man. Of course, many believe that such a cushy position was just a reward from his friend the prince, but even the king saw that the two made a great team. And if Killian was out there, his son would be well protected and supported. When omicron went to live with the dwarves, killian asked to go with his friend, but the king rejected his request citing that since the young prince is gone, the only person that could do the job just as well was killian. He was awarded Omicron's old post as field leader of the eastern border.
Unfortunately, the promotion was seen as a favor to the departed prince. This gave him no respect from the others in the militia and would often exclude him from get together. In his eyes, they saw him as unfit to be leader. HE was the loner, the one you would least call when in trouble, unless your name was omicron. During his tenure as field leader, he was not extraordinary. He fulfilled his obligations but never going the extra mile. Why would he? there was no reason to improve something that has been working just fine since he can remember.
When his tenure was up, Killian saw no reason to stay around. His family was doing well, his brothers and sisters were all married, his friend has long since left, and the people of the village really never accepted him any more than they did before he became friends with Omicron. He felt that his life had reverted since his departure. He was once again Killian the lonely. Sure he was field commander of the eastern border, but the peace with the dwarves made the post very mundane and humdrum. Nothing ever happened on the eastern front. He often would run into his old friend, but it wasn't the same anymore. They had both taken different directions with their lives that it almost felt like strange when they would meet.
when Omicron left the dwarves in order to explore the seas, killian felt compelled to follow his friend. Unfortunately, he was too late to rendezvous with his friend before he boarded the ship. Killian decided to stick to the open road and wished his long time friend luck in his endeavors. He traveled south, staying here and there but never really setting up residence anywhere. It was when he reached the coastal cities that he heard of his old friend Omicron. ?He had learned that Omicron had embarked on an expedition to the southern continent in order to establish trading routes for the kingdom. This news gave killian a smile. He thought to himself "great, Omicron is doing what he said he would do... Explore the unknown. Good for him".
while still traveling the coast, he once again heard of his friend. this time, it was news that there was a city of gnome refugees setting up in the caw point area. as it turned out, it was omicron w, along with two others who were developing this town. He decided to head to claw point and see this for himself. To his surprise, it was omicron who greeted upon his arrival. soon thereafter, omicron entrusted Killian to head the town department of records. Omicron saw nobody more fitting for a position that required almost no interaction with others. Killian was very grateful for the job, and the fact that he was once again reunited with the only other left that understood him.
Killian's main strength is his meticulous attention to detail. No item is brought in or removed without being thoroughly checked and re-checked, and checked once more by Killian himself. after all, the founders, townsfolk, military, everyone depends on Killian's accuracy in the records. Originally, Omicron wanted to appoint his friend as head of the Order Officials, but that idea was immediately changed when reminded of his friend's mannerism towards others, especially outsiders.
Gnomes are known the world over for their superior gemcutting skills. A rock is not a rock, or a stone a simple stone. They are living parts of the earth with their own life essence. Gnomes get to know a gem before deciding to bring out its inner beauty. Particularly spectacular gems may go uncut for many years before a worthy cutter may be found. Speaking of Gnomes Imagine That
Gnomes are blessed with ever expanding imaginations. They seek to improve their world without bringing it harm through the use of mechanical inventions and alchemy. Gnome homes and villages are often littered with peculiar new creations and unfinished projects.
Gnome Home
Gnomes are naturally friendly, highly social and fun loving people. They are respected by Elves for their communion with nature and knowledge of arcane magic, admired by Halflings for their humor, and sought out by Dwarves for their gemcutting skills.
